My name is Elaine Campbell. However, this page is not about me, but about my Mama, Lai Granada, who is in the Philippines.
Mama is a loving mother to her four children: Theresa, me, Eric and Jamaica, all are now adults; Theresa and I are both married and have our own children. In more recent years, we have further loved and appreciated Mama – her love and sacrifice for the family.
Recently, our Mama has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Her condition required mastectomy and a series of chemotherapy, radiation and vaccine treatments. The vaccine treatments costs $1,200 x 18 sessions, every 3 weeks. Needless to say, the surgery and treatment costs are very high. The family have tried our best to sustain the medical bills, but the financial pressure is overwhelming.
In the midst of our emotional and financial struggle, we lost my brother, Eric, to chronic kidney disease. For 2 years and 6mos, Eric underwent regular dialysis treatment. He was very brave and determined; he fought with purpose. His fight ended on 10th November 2019. We lost a family member, but heaven gained a warrior.
We accepted Eric’s passing, but no matter how much we try to cope with grief and seek healing for our loss, my family and I struggle with the thought of possibly losing another beloved family member to illness so soon. It's easy to tell ourselves not to overthink and just pray, but with our finances shrinking and medical bills growing, we cannot help but worry.
Mama continues to fight. She looks forward to each new day, and hopes to continue to live, and to serve the Lord with her life.
To this end, we humbly appeal for financial support towards Mama's medical treatments. Any amount you extend to use will be appreciated.
And as my family and I continue to pray for Mama's healing and restoration, we also pray for you – whoever you are, wherever you may be – that you be blessed abundantly and that you may also walk in good health, love, joy and peace.
