Help Mr. David Fight Cancer

Donation protected
On Monday, April 24th, David was admitted to the hospital; after experiencing numbness on his right side and falling down.  CT scans showed masses on the brain.  MRI following confirmed he had 2 large masses/brain tumor covering left part of his brain.  Immediately, the doctor was able to name it primary brain cancer; indicating that this type of cancer didn't come from anywhere else in the body.  To be sure, scans were done other places of the body and proved no cancer elsewhere.  Saturday morning, April 29th, David underwent surgery to remove the tumor.   The doctor was unable to remove 100% of the cancerous mass as he was not able to go that far.. the best choice was to leave some of the "good" brain cells..this is where the treatment will come in.

Type of Cancer:
David was diagnosed with high grade Glioblastoma.  Doctor says its high grade glioblastoma multiform (GBM), level 4.  It is primary glioblastoma and the most agressive kind.  Glioblastomas are usually highly malignant—a large number of tumor cells are reproducing at any given time, and they are nourished by an ample blood supply. Because these tumors come from normal brain cells, it is easy for them to invade and live within normal brain tissue. However, glioblastoma rarely spreads elsewhere in the body. The next steps for treatment include impatient physical therapy (to help with his loss of movement on right side), radiation, and chemotherapy.  Radiation will most likely begin in 2-4 weeks.

Reason for this campaign:
I am David's stepdaughter, Samantha.  David is the father to 4 children (one of whom has passed away) and 5 step-children.  He is a husband, a father, a grandfather, a chef/butcher, a church usher, a friend.  He loves the Lord and loves people.  David has overcome many trials.  Tragically losing his teenage daughter, Tara years ago, to just recently the tragic loss of his grandaughter, Audrey. Audrey (in profile picture above) passed away in a horrific car accident at the age of 7 only a few months ago.  Our family is still in deep grief,  and this new situation came as a huge shock, at a time when we are already in a hard place.

David is the owner of "Mr. David's Specialty Meats."  He pours his heart and love into his business and runs it himself.  This is the only source of income for he and my mother.  We are unsure the future of the store.  My parents would never ask for a thing.  But I feel that he has done so much for so many, that it is now our turn to give back.  The medical bills have already begun and are quickly racking up.  I am concerned about how they will cover all of the expenses and worry about their stress with the unexpected finances to come.  Details with future insurance coverage will need to be determined.  As of now, the store will remain closed.

These funds will help alleviate some of the stress and go strictly to medical funds of physical therapy, radiation and chemotherapy, which will be a long process to come.  However you can help, will be greatly appreciated. David loves everyone so much and I know how much this would mean to him and help him in his fight against this cancer!

Please keep him in your prayers!

Isaiah 40:31 ...but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
