Help Make mouthfull. 2018 A Reality

My name is Hollye Bynum. I am a Choreographer, Producer, Director, Curator, and the founder of OF BONES || HOLLYE BYNUM living in Brooklyn, NY, and I need your help! 

Since moving to Brooklyn six years ago, I have created over 40 live-performance and film works and produced 14 events. The most impactful and successful event I have been fortunate to produce is called, mouthfull. (not to mention it's my favorite)! 

Here's a bit about the event:  mouthfull., an evening of dance via live-performance, photography, music, and film, created in 2013, is curated and produced by Founder for OB||HB, Hollye Bynum. It provides a platform for emerging choreographers and dance filmmakers to present new work in a safe and welcoming space at an affordable rate. mouthfull. takes place annually in Brooklyn, NY at Center for Performance Research. 

mouthfull. is structured in a unique way, so that as soon as the audience enters they feel as if they're walking into something special. It is not made for audiences to enter, sit in their seats, soak in information, and leave. The audience and their interactions and reactions are just as much a part of the show as the performers and performances.  This is why I curate a gallery installation and invite everyone to take part in a gathering and toast after the show. The idea is that individuals are able to come into a warm, safe environment, maybe partake in a beverage or sweet treat, experience something they haven't before,  and have a lot of fun in the process. 

We have sold out each year and starting this past year, have expanded the event to two nights - still packing the house with an eclectic and diverse audience. 

This year producing mouthfull. is a bit different. Let me explain... This past year brought forth a lot of change in my life. I suffered a serious head injury in November of 2017. It took me out of the game for a few months and my work flowed stop. I wasn't working or creating, and it depleted my funding. I also lost my administrative staff. For these reasons, I was not able to produce my other event Boundless in Brooklyn this summer which typically brings in revenue that goes toward mouthfull. The rest of the expenses are out of pocket, that I personally cover, but with the year I've had, I need help to get this show off the ground.
