Help Miss Cumberland Fix Her Car!

On Monday Kenmore Elementary experienced a power outage but the district decided not to cancel school. Sadly the school was without power and heat for the majority of the school day. Kindergarten teacher Miss Cumberland spent the day comforting students who were scared of the dark, or cold, and attempting to teach 21 five year olds by the light of a few lanterns. Right before the end of the school day a large branch fell on her brand new car causing serious damage.
Unfortunately the district is calling this an "act of God" and will not pay for the damage. We are hoping to raise the money to cover her $1000 deductible as a way of showing our gratitude for all she does for her students every day. It is clear that students should not have been at school that day and extremely unfortunate that one of our amazing teachers had to suffer as a result of being there.
