Help our miracle baby Amal come home

Donation protected
UPDATE September 27th: An anonymous donator offered to settle the bill at 250,000 AED. The hospital obliged and the bill has now been cleared. Everyone that donated will be getting a refund via go fund me. We are working with their team to initiate that process and will keep you updated on when to expect a refund.

We hope everyone will keep our daughter in their prayers. The love and support was overwhelming.

My name is Syeda Khola Adnan, 23 years old born and raised in Dubai.

I recently got married in Dubai last December 2018 and planned to move to the UK with my husband who is British, after my wedding I went to the UK on visit visa for 2 months and came back to Dubai to apply for my spouse visa in March. I got pregnant in January.

My visa for the UK got rejected because we submitted the wrong kind of IELTS test, based on our solicitors advise. Because of my visa being rejected, i was separated from my husband and had to face delivering my baby In Dubai. Our baby was initially due in October.

We tried to appeal the decision of the visa, which is still under process, in hope it would be overturned by October and i could deliver our baby in the UK.

Due to severe complications with my pregnancy we were enlisted to seek help of one of only two foetal specialists in Dubai. Dr Mayserah, who happened to sit at NMC ROYAL, I went for a regular check up on 14th July and was admitted immediately at NMC ROYAL DIP as my amniotic fluid was very low and our baby's heart rate and blood pressure was decreasing rapidly. They immediately did an emergency c section and our baby was delivered by the grace of God. The tiniest but most beautiful little baby. 23 weeks premature weighing only 400 grams and the size of my hand. We initially wanted to go to a government hospital but because of how quickly events unfolded this was no longer an option.

As I did not plan to deliver my baby in Dubai, I do not have any insurance. No insurance company is covering us knowing our baby is in critical condition and will be in the NICU for the next 3-4 months.

The hospital bill as of today is circa 440,000 dhs. Which is about £100,000 The bill is attached above in the pictures section.

By the time our baby is ready to be discharged, the bill is forecast to exceed 800,000 aed which is around £200,000. We tried to reason with the hospital offering monthly instalments based on our capabilities, but they rejected our notion and astonishingly asked for the whole payment up front or split up the payment in 3 instalments. We have no other option. My husband who works in the Uk is suffering terribly from this and can not be with me as we require 6 payslips to be able to re-apply for a visa again.

The hospital have threatened legal action and the doctor has advised they won’t give us our daughter back until the bill is totally cleared.

Neither me or my husband have that sort of money to pay for the bill. As we recently got married and applied for my UK visa we are still paying off loans that we took for that and I do not work.

We are trying to contact charities that would help us pay, but at the moment we haven't heard back from any of them. We are really stuck and have no other option. We have enlisted help of the British embassy and they have advised us to set up a go fund me page,  contact lawyers and try and raise as much as we can from friends and family.

We really need help to bring my baby home, any kind of help would be appreciated. you don't realise the situations you can find yourself in until you find yourself in them. I have never thought of asking for help before in my life, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and your pride and do everything you can to bring your loved ones, in this instance our baby home.

My husband has set this up on our behalf as I'm not able to create one from Dubai. All pictures and documents are above. Including the medical report, the latest hospital bill received today and pictures of Amal. We might not reach the total goal but we are hoping to raise enough to come up with some sort of amicable agreement with the hospital. i hope this is the start of being able to bring my beautiful daughter home.

Thank you and may god bless you all. We appreciate your love and support.
