My Story!
Hi Guys! Salaams. May the Greetings of Peace be upon you.
My name is Muhib (spelt wrongly as Mohib, thanks mum & dad you da best) I'm from the UK. I'm also known as Tyler, the Poet on Instagram. @tylerthepoet_ (feel free to connect with me).
I'm by no means a "religious" person. I'm by no means a student of knowledge, (although I love learning). I'm just me whatever that may be, a normal 24-year-old who enjoys gaming from time to time. I enjoy watching Anime. I have aspirations of becoming an English teacher one day and intend to travel the world and help people in whatever way I can.
My fascination with Islam all began by a group of spiritually and academically sound men. These men are known as traditional scholars. The more I listened to them. The more I began to realize that my purpose here on earth was not to just "enjoy." I'm here for Knowledge. I'm here for "something more." They placed that into my heart. I'm at a point where I would like to cultivate it.
Intimidating as it was. I decided to apply for the Rihla. The Rihla is run by DeenIntensive an awesome Organization. They define the Rihla as. "A journey with a purpose: an inner transformation rooted in sound knowledge and spiritual discipline."
A few years ago I'd probably say "Nah, I'm good thanks." and probably scoff. But the more time I spend reflecting on why I'm here the more appealing the above sounds. I truly am starting to realize I am here to something greater. To live a life of Meaning. A life of proximity to God.
I never quite saw myself doing this. But this is life, you never know where you will end up. So you can imagine when I received an email from Deen Intensive saying that I had been accepted you can imagine my shock. My first initial thoughts were of excitement but then I started planning. I started assessing whether I could actually go.
"How the heck am I going to afford all of this?"
They require Part 1 of 3 payments by the 1st May. That's like, err, two weeks? How am I going to do this? Legit overthinking.
My mum is going to seriously put me into a half-nelson if I even dare thinking about a bank loan.
Forget it. That's what I said. I just closed my laptop, took a large sigh and I made excuses. I almost resigned myself. Maybe this just wasn't for me? Maybe I'm just trying too hard? This continued until the sweetest most angelic thought entered my naive mind.
"Ask people to help you. Give it a go. Trust in Allah. Leap, be courageous."
So I was like, ok, angel. Let's do this!
Here I am. I'm simply asking you to help me realize my dream. Your funding here will help me take one step closer to attending the Rihla course this year. It will go towards Part 1 of 3 payments. I will consider crowdfunding whatever I can for the other two payments.
These payments cover my accommodation, food, and syllabus requirements. The support you provide here will always benefit you. God truly does help those that help others. My gratitude will be literally off the scales! You guys don't know how much this means to me! To be able to study this beautiful religion if Islam with traditional scholars, under the guidance of scholars in their respective fields.
This is super new to me. Maybe when I come back I can share what I learned out there. Maybe whilst being busy trying to be the catalyst for change for myself I can help my mother, my sister, my wider family. Consider helping me. Just because, just because I'm here asking for help. Vulnerable, no persona, no mask. Just me.

NOTE: I am only raising for the Rihla Fees. Whatever is left over will be either refunded or utilized according to the Donors Discretion. My flight ticket, and other costs will be paid by me. I am actively seeking employment and I am one step closer each day!
NOTE: ALL Funds have been raised. That which is extra will be utilized toward the trips additional costs, i.e. stay, flight expenditure and various other costs. Money not utilized for the trip will be reimbursed back into the trip or donated to a random charity.
