Hello my friends!
If you don’t already know, I am back in the water, with a vengeance! I have a successful history of open water swimming in lakes and oceans. I don’t wear a wet suit and I like cold water. I train in Portland, Oregon and I will be participating in several big swims this year as my goals get bigger and bigger.
Here’s my plan: I will be swimming the Alcatraz Classic on May 11th 2019. I am shooting for a fast time. I don’t yet know where I measure up to others, but this will help me gain insight going forward.
The swim is to St. Francis and the distance is between 1.6-2.1 miles depending on conditions, but it’s fast. Around 30ish minutes I presume.
Where your money will go:
Entry Fee: $350
Air Travel: $250
Transportation in SF: $100
Food: $150
Hostel Lodging: $150(2 nights)
Total $1000
