QR Return Labels for Lost Items
About Me:
Hi, my name is Gabriele. I am 18 years old, live in London with my mum and currently study A-Levels at a sixth Form College. Since a young age, I have been fascinated with invention and the process of developing ideas into products. Because of this I have always had the ambition and desire of becoming an entrepreneur. I hope that this platform would be a way for me to obtain funds in order to make my aspirations, reality.
About the Product:
Loosing personal items can be both worrying and stressful.
The average rush hour commuter carries approximately £1,815 worth of items onto computer trains, with hundreds of these items being lost each day. This is a huge problem as people may not think twice about writing a lost notice into their notebook or backpack; this makes it almost impossible to recover most lost items.
Wither it be losing your; luggage at an airport, leaving your laptop or diary on public transport, anything you name it. I wanted to design a product that can be universally applied to multiple belongings, with return information that can be accessed by anyone that found the item.
Through this concept I developed an idea of a heavy duty QR code sticker (suitable for hard materials) and a heat applicable label (for fabric products) that once applied can be scanned using a mobile QR reader in order to direct finders to a webpage where the owners return information is displayed. This product would allow users to label multiple belongings under the same profile allowing people to conveniently lost prevent multiple items.
Variable contact details, as selected by the item owner are displayed via the sticker, including; contact numbers, contact emails. This allows ease of contact between the finder and the product owner.
This item is to be sold in varying packages, containting variable types of lables including:
- Credit Card shaped cards intended for wallets. - Heavy duty weatherproof stickers of multiple sizes. (Designed for hard materials, alike, plastic and metal)
- Fabric Lables of multiple sizes (Designed to be heat applied to fabric products, alike, backpacks and suitcases).
Item Design and Development Progression:
The item has been prototyped many times and is currently ready to be finalised and manufactured, with your help.
Funding:
The project is currently at a halt due me being financially limited. Funding is required for me begin manufacturing the stickers, manufacturing product packaging and to host the website.
