Help Me Lead A Healthier and Happier Life!
Hello, my name is Madeleine Paquette. I am 17, I will turn 18 on August 16. I currently reside in Indianapolis, Indiana. All my life I have been on the bigger side. People make fun of me for my weight, and it even led to very abusive relationships and poor choices in my social and romantic life. I have struggled with my self-confidence since about 5th or 6th grade, possibly a bit sooner.
People would call me chubby, fat, or even ugly, and even though some of that is true, their words still hurt me. I have anxiety, severe depression and have had suicidal thoughts because of my weight and appearance, I attempted to take my own life in January of 2018.
I have struggled in school and social situations. I was held back I believe 3 times. I now only have one more year of school left (I hope). I have improved my anxiety about death, and depression a bit with the help of a therapist, but I still feel like something is missing.
I have changed my mind about life and I want to be around to see my little sisters grow up, and experience all the exciting things life has to offer. I am currently 272 pounds, I am classified as obese for my weight and height with a BMI of 40.2. I am coming up on 300 pounds, and that scares me, a lot. Every day I feel tired, weak, sick, and just want to lay in bed all day because I don't enjoy life. I don't want to die young, I'd like to improve my overall health.

I am hoping to attend a school in Arizona to help me change my ways and teach me how to live healthier and happier, it is called Gem Academy.
Information About Gem Academy
Gem Academy specializes in health and fitness, as well as mental health. They teach education, nutrition, culinary, activity, etiology & physiology. They also do cognitive therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. This school is for girls between the ages of 14-18. Tuition For The School
My mother and I have called and spoken with the founder and director Jim Hershey. His recommendation was that I stay for 10 months, at $7,000 a month, that would be $70,000!!! We decided to go for 8 months, which is $56,000. Still a lot! That's why I need your help!
