Single Mom in Desperate Need of Cancer Surgery

My name is Jennifer. I'm a 32 year old single mother of a beautiful 10 year old girl. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. Breast cancer. Grade 3 is the most aggressive form. I'm usually a very healthy, active woman. I opted out of health insurance in May because, at the time, I couldn't afford it and pay rent and child care. This thing came out of nowhere. Completely blind sided me. Without insurance I can't find help in the United States. I've exhausted every resource anybody has given me, I've spoken with 100-150 people over the last 2 weeks, and nobody has an answer. I've been told I'm too young, too far over poverty threshold, and the cancer isn't "bad enough" because it hasn't spread beyond the breast, YET. One hospital said I would need $15,000 before they'd even give me a  consultation. It's so sad that hard working Americans can't get the help we need. While I'm fighting for my right to receive treatment, this thing is growing out of control. I have to have it drained periodically (who knows what those bills will look like) in order to keep the pain to a minimum. So after speaking with every hospital in my area and some in other states, calling the American Cancer Society, Komen, and several others, and searching online for resources, I've finally turned to medical tourism for the answer. I found a reputable hospital in Mexico that will do the mastectomy for around $8000. I'm trying to raise extra for the 6 day stay (at minimum) for the hotel and transportation and just in case I have to stay longer for some reason. I'm not one to ask for help. I work hard for what I have and to remain independent. I've been told to step down at work to part time so I can get Medicaid and food stamps. To me that is not an option. I've worked too hard to get to where I am. So I'm stepping out of my comfort zone, becoming vulnerable, to ask for help. I have a week vacation starting August 18 that I would like to use to go down for surgery. That doesn't leave much time to raise funds. Any amount will help.
