HELP MARIE BEAT TERMINAL CANCER

Donation protected
Marie Kirkham, my mum was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian cancer in 2016.
Marie embarked on a year of treatment which consisted of 3 cycles of chemotherapy, where following this she underwent  surgery to remove the tumour.
Unfortunately during surgery it was seen that the cancer had spread into the lining of her abdominal cavity, the peritoneum.
Surgery lasted 12 hours and left Marie with a Stoma.
Once Marie had recovered enough she was given a further 4 more cycles of chemotherapy.
At the midway point of her treatment scans showed initial improvements.
On completion of her treatment on the 1st June 2017, further scans showed no further change in her disease.
In May 2018 Marie spent 7 weeks in hospital being treated for a full blockage to her bowel due to the progression of this disease . This has resulted in her being unable to eat or drink again. Unfortunately since then Marie has been admitted into hospital over 20 times as she is in constant pain and discomfort with ascitic fluid that has built up in her abdomen and back, along with odema to her legs, the cancer has also spread into the liver.

Marie now has to have a permanent PICC line where she receives Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) which is an intravenous feed that provides her with all the fluid, essential nutrients and calories  she needs.

Marie has a permanent syringe driver attached to her where pain relief, medications, relaxants and diuretics are administered constantly.

Marie's oncologists have now stated there is no more they can do for her.
My mum, Marie and her family refuse to accept this and through extensive research  we have found a private company called Oncologica.  This company uses a DNA Cancer Test. The  test works by firstly sequencing the DNA and RNA of the patient's tumour.
The sequencing of DNA and RNA identifies genetic mutations specific to the individual's tumour and generates a personalised genetic profile. The detected mutations are then directly matched to the most appropriate and available anti-cancer drugs which have been approved by all the main regulators worldwide(FDA, EMA, ESMO and NCCN) and those that are currently tested as part of controlled clinical trials, therefore ensuring the best level of clinical evidence that exists.

The initial DNA test has cost £1800 which we have paid for.

There are now several treatment options now available to my mum. 3 within the U.K. , 2 in the USA & Canada, whilst the rest are spread throughout Europe.
Each new option costs tens of thousands of pounds per cycle, per treatment.  That doesn’t include travel arrangements.

With Marie unable to work since her diagnosis in 2016 and her husband Gary being her main carer, they do not have the funds required.
We require your URGENT help NOW!
It doesn't matter how small the donation is, it all helps to raise the vital funds required to enter into these treatment options and trials to give Marie the best chance of survival.
With her being now classed as terminal Marie a mum of two, wife, Grandmother to 5, sister to 4 and a daughter only has a few months left.

Please help us if you can.

Thank you
