GBS

Donation protected
On September 5th, 2017 Margie and I went to the ER for what we thought was a back sprain caused by picking up our 5 month old Calvin. We knew we were in for something more when the doctor ordered a spinal tap and MRI. The spinal tap/MRI revealed Margie has Guillian Barre Syndrome. Guillian Barre Syndrom (GBS) is a life-threatening extremely rare auto-immune disorder that attacks the central nervous system paralyzing the muscles, lungs, and heart. After the diagnosis, she was quickly transported to the Neurology Unit at Cherry Hill Swedish. There she was hospitalized for 2 weeks and under went IVIG treatments to help treat the syndrome.

Margie's insurance covered a portion of the emergency room visit, her treatments for GBS, hospital stay and out-patient physical therapy but couple this with the cost of the medications and a leave of absence from work we are slowly exhausting our savings.

As of today, Margie cannot walk unassissted and has many more months of physical therapy before she fully recovers.

We have turned to GoFundMe because we need help. We ask that you please donate any amount you can to help fund Margie's rehabilitation and get her back on her feet.

No amount is too small and your generousity is appreciated.

Much love,
Matt, Margie, Jake, & Calvin

P.S.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Please share Margie's story with your friends and family to help raise awareness of GBS. And if you know of any pro bono acute rehab facilities please let us know.
