Help Lori Finish Cancer

Our family has been dealt crushing blows this week. We are reeling from shock and disbelief. On December 6th, the day our grandpa passed away, mom was diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer at age 53. She underwent immediate surgery.  Needless to say, Mom was not prepared emotionally, physically and financially.

My mom is the owner of Farrar Photography.

Mom's life-saving surgery lasted almost 7 hours. The wonderful doctors at Providence removed the tumors that had spread throughout her abdomen. The healing process will be difficult. Mom will soon begin aggressive chemotherapy and will be unable to work.  Before her diagnosis, she had been trying to sell her house because the mortgage had become unmanageable. Our family will try to provide as much help and support as possible.

Fortunately, she addressed her illness when she did, however, we are fearful of the mounting medical expenses that will inevitably follow. We are hoping contributions from her community of friends and colleagues will help us reduce the financial burdens and the associated stress so that she can totally focus on her recovery.

We are grateful for the friends who mean so much to mom and their outpouring of love is truly appreciated. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

With love,
Haley and Ciara

The numbers indicating that chemo was working gave us false hope. Mom's recent CT scan shows cancer is growing and chemo is not working, therefore she is no longer getting chemo treatment. Immunotherapy is the last method to treat the cancer and we are looking into that as an option. Please keep Lori in your thoughts and prayers as she fights to finish cancer.

Thanks so much for your continued support. Mom has been in and out of the hospital throughout her chemo treatments due to various chemo related setbacks. She is a third of the way through and the numbers indicate the chemo is working. Aggressive treatment is making her very weak, but we hope that she'll be able to regain her strength with proper care.

The family would also like to thank those who attended the King Street fundraising event and made it a huge success. Mom was able to show up and chat with her friends. She was so happy she was able to say hi to everyone.

Please keep Lori in your thoughts and prayers as she fights to finish cancer.

Mom went to the ER on Monday. She was hospitalized because of zero energy and extreme discomfort. Chemo started as of yesterday and thankfully we found someone who was able to cut her hair before the infusions. We are so grateful to Tanette from Northern Lights Barber Shop for coming to the hospital to cut my mom’s hair.

So thankful mom was strong enough to leave the hospital! My family can’t express enough thanks for all the love and support we have received during this time - your donations are helping put her on a more stable path to recovery. We are so grateful for your kindness and caring. We truly appreciate your generosity.

Mom will likely begin aggressive chemotherapy next month. Please keep her in your prayers during her journey to recovery.
