Help Lizzie Live

Earlier this week Lizzie, my emotional support dog, began coughing like she was choking on something. I took her into the vet after it continued for a couple days and got the unfortunate and tragic news that she is still battling the Heartworm that was said to have been treated when I adopted her. Lizzie comes from the south of the united states, where Heartworm is much more prevalent and easier to catch. Because she has now been battling Heartworm, unknowingly, for over a year, she is in grim shape for treatments. The vet advised that I get testing and ultrasounds done on Lizzies heart and organs to make sure she is able to have the regular Heartworm treatment without complications or possibly death. The average treatment for Heartworm is a 6 month treatment process, and a year long recovery. It is a heavy cost to get these treatments done, and the heart ultrasound and bloodwork is an enormous expense on top of this. 

Lizzie has been with me through my entire college life, and has helped my mental health more than words can describe. Lizzie has been with me through the hardest moments in my entire life, and she means the world to all of her people and animal friends. More people showed up to her birthday party than I even knew! Nobody has ever met a sweeter, mellower, more gentle dog than Lizzie, and she has offered so many of her friends around her consolidation and love when they needed it. 

Treating Lizzie is vital for keeping her alive and for keeping me here in college, because without her I don't know if I would still be here today. 

I am raising this money to help with the costs of vet bills for treatment, some travel expenses to specialty vets for testing, and for her continued treatment through her life. Anything and everything will help Lizzie get better and help me afford the best treatment I can get her. Please help!
