Overwhelmed with Veterinary Surgery
Lilybell is my 5 year old Yorkshire terrier. A few days ago Lilybell had a run in with a much larger dog in our neighborhood. By the time both the other owner and myself managed to get them apart, Lilybell had been severely bitten, and shaken. I rushed Lilybell to the dove Lewis hospital in downtown Portland, but soon realized that I wouldn't be able to afford the surgery for the suspected fracture of her left arm, let alone the initial xrays and visit to the vet. It is so hard to see her in pain. I'm a single, middle aged woman, and Lilybell is my only companion. In fact, she is my kid. I've visited several organizations in the past couple days but no one has been able to help. The Oregon humane society will help, but only upon surrendering her, and I just can't do that. Join, another organization will help but I'm not homeless. I have an apartment, but I live on a limited income, and assistance, I can't afford this treatment. Without it, Lilybell will be subject to a life of pain and difficulty moving. This is my first time using this website, and I really hope thus works. Please help in whatever way you can. Anything will be appreciated.+ Read More
Hi, Lilybell is really doing great for the most part, she is walking further at a time ( though not like before), but can go a few blocks now with some stopping and resting at spots and has basically seemed more herself. Her wound has really healed! I still have not posted the video I wanted, but I have been babysitting on the other side of town and just got back home after 5 days so that is the next thing I am doing, I promise!
I am having trouble posting a video from my kindle of Lilybell so everyone can see how well she is doing, working on it!
Tomorrow I would like to thank everyone personally, as I have attained my goal. The veterinarian I went to is only charging me 1200-1250 for the surgery. The clinic was a great surprise, and Lilybell has been in excellent hands! I will post a video of her so everyone can see what a little fighter she is, I am so proud of her for coming through this with her great big little dog spirit!
