Help Lilly Breathe

Donation protected

Lilly Wyburn needs your help – after being placed in the Intensive Care Unit at Westmead Children's Hospital she is facing a lung transplant at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Lilly, currently:

I am Lilly's Aunt, and I want YOU to help me help Lilly, Lilly's Family, and The Leukaemia Foundation make life saving changes possible.

"The Alfred Hospital has the only dedicated paediatric lung transplant service in Australia and to date has transplanted children from most states and New Zealand with advanced lung disease with excellent results."

Lilly was born in Parkes, NSW and diagnosed with Leukaemia aged 1 and a half years. She has since turned 8 and has been battling in hospital fighting for her life over six long difficult years. Lilly has never complained, and has always taken everything in heroic stride. And on top of it all, she still puts others first and thinks of others at all times.

Lilly, aged 2 during chemo and her first hair cut:

In a turn for the worst, Lilly’s lungs both collapsed placing her in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Westmead Children’s Hospital after an operation to insert a feeding tube to help her gain weight for an upcoming lung transplant.

Many of you know about Lilly’s journey as beloved friends, family and followers, and have been by her side from the start in person and through her Facebook Page: Like’s For Lilly.

For anyone new, Lilly has been dealing and fighting like a champion with and against cancer, Infections, Bone Marrow transplants, Chemotherapy, Physiotherapy, Steroids, time spent in isolation quarantine tents, Immuno-suppressants, Cord Blood transfusions, numerous operations including minor, major, and insertion of main line chords (permanently protruding from her chest) for easy medication access; and so much more.

Here are some photos of Lilly's journey over the past six years! Including the birth and love of her baby brother!

Due to the severity of Lilly’s life in hospital, her lungs are severely and permanently damaged. She was recently on 24/7 oxygen and relied on a wheelchair to carry the heavy canisters that helped her breathe, up until the unexpected collapse of both lungs after surgery.

Lilly has made it through incredible odds over six years, especially and currently in the Intensive Care Unit after lung collapse. It’s a terrifying and challenging experience and she is awaiting transport to Melbourne for her desperately needed lung transplant.

During Lilly's journey Lilly's family have always worked full time in Parkes and any time they are home. Lilly's Mum has also gone to the great effort of working from Lilly's hospital room on her laptop when possible.

A photo of Lilly and her dad Kane on a happy day out from the hospital:

Lilly's parents, Kane and Jodie, often take turns working whilst the other is by their little girls side in Sydney; even making weekend trips to Sydney whilst working through the week. Lilly has a little brother, Logan; who has been taken care of by various family members throughout his life. Logan has just turned five and attends school in Parkes.

Donations towards Lilly and her Family mean everything right now.

Lilly's situation is urgent, heart breaking for everyone involved and can be helped greatly by your donations. Here's how: The little things make big differences, and they all add up! Accommodation, food, petrol, schooling, Logan's care whilst both parents must be with Lilly in Sydney and soon to be Melbourne, clothing, education, various hospital therapies and being uprooted constantly for six years have been incredibly difficult for Lilly, Logan and her parents. Emotionally and financially.

Lilly pitches in to help, even if she's a little sick! :

Likes For Lilly currently has 1,896 Followers on Facebook.

If every single person who follows Likes For Lilly donates $20 - that's already $37,920. That is a HUGE amount of money that can be made so easily, with our biggest, unexplainable thanks.

If everyone else you can share this with donates another $20, the sky is the limit.

These funds are going towards Lilly, Lilly's family to aid her and her transplant during this time, and every dollar left over is going to proudly and thankfully be given to The Leukaemia Research Foundation.

Please help Lilly, and help the research that wants so badly to cure this disease. Together everyone can make a difference, not just for one child, one family, but many.

Lilly's future needs a little help from you, and I, Lucy, (Lilly's Aunty) have decided to set up a Go Fund Me. We have no idea how much we may raise, but we are so hopeful and thankful for anyone who donates and has the time to go further than clicking ''Like''. Lilly is truly a remarkable daughter, niece and light in this world and the Leukaemia Foundation is making valuable, life saving research.

I, and Lilly's family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

- Sincerely, Lucy

(The luckiest Auntie in the WORLD).
