Our dear friend Kerry-lee's life was turned upside down when she was recently diagnosed with a very nasty rare and aggressive breast cancer.
After having a bilateral mastectomy she has now been told she must have Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy as she has a high risk of distant Metastasis. It is a race against time to clear her bloodstream as she has been told if this cancer takes hold anywhere else they won't be able to save her.
Kerry-lee is only 47, she is a hardworking mother of Jake 24, Connor 23 and Grace 12.
Over the past 18 months I have seen her struggles and have taken it upon myself to launch an appeal for her.
Last year Kerry-lee was hit from behind by a ten tonne truck that left her with a debilitating back injury and months of physio and pain therapy. She was just getting back to her old self and now she has been struck down with this.
Because of the lymphatic nature of Kerry-lee's tumour, her age and being pre menopausal, she has been told she will be given high doses of Chemotherapy, as we know this is harsh and her immune system is going to be stripped.
Kerry-lee's oncologist has recommended a Chinese Herbalist who's background is in Oncology, and is successfully treating patients with Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture, along with having Chemotherapy and Radiation.
We want Kerry-lee to get the best treatment available. But this all comes with a very hefty price tag.
The statutory sick pay in Australia is only 10 days and Kerry-Lee is now on unpaid leave. With a further 6 months of treatment ahead of her, she is unable to bring in an income anytime soon.
Please help me support Kez and lift the financial burden to pay for the treatment she needs. She is a caring mother, daughter, sister and friend, the first to be there for everyone else. Now it's our turn to help her in this fight and see her back to her happy, jokey self.
