What started with "pins and needles" in my younger brother Keith's feet and hands has progressed into Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) Syndrome. It's a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks the nervous system.
He was hospitalized because the GBS attacked his feet and spread to his legs. Making walking almost impossible. Keith has been treated with a series of IV immunoglobulins. These proteins should slow down the immune systems attack on the nerves. The doctors say the recovery time could vary from 3 weeks. To as long as 6 months or longer.
Keith's job can be very physically demanding and we have no idea on when he will be able to return. I started this GoFundMe in order to help offset the medical bills that will be piling up and all the others due to him not being able to work.
Everything I collect on here will go to supporting my brother Keith, his wife Kara and infant son James.
