Help Keep Bella Home

My husband and I were approached to dog sit two loving Labradors for two months. They were a mother-daughter combo named Sadie and Bella. Unfortunately the owner never returned for the dogs and has since moved to BC. We made the decision to keep the dogs as we didn’t feel right re-homing them yet again. Bella was born April 5, 2014. She spent most of her young life as an outdoor dog. We took both dogs to the groomer to freshen up their coats and then to the vet only to find out both dogs had been grossly under cared for! Bella was the sickest - she suffered from a severe ear infection with mites, ringworm, her anal glands were very full, and she had severe gum disease and needed to have some teeth removed. We gladly paid to have the two dogs properly vaccinated and cleared of any diseases they had and ensured we spayed so should the previous owner return she could not bread the dogs again . Over the year Sadie has flourished while our poor Bella has been sick with chronic ear infections and her anal glands have to be extracted 4 times a year. We have now spent $2500+ on Bella alone since we got her. We recently had a baby and unfortunately with maternity benefits and my husband going back to school we are not in a position to cover her new medical costs. Bella needs a tooth removed and her ear infection has returned full force. We really don’t want to re-home Bella or have to put her down. So we are now desperate to keep our sweet dog. We have worked so hard training her and making her a part of our family, we are heart broken thinking we might have to give her up. We placed an ad asking if someone would be interested in taking her when it was suggested to us to start a go fund me page. So that is what we have done in hopes that we can raise enough money to get her medical bills covered until our financial situation improves, so we can keep her in our family and with her mother!!
