Help Katheryn Say Nope to Stroke!
On Sunday, October 14, 2018 Katheryn suffered an ischemic stroke, caused by a narrowing or blockage in her arteries.
She was found in her room non-responsive, and 911 was called. When the paramedics carried her out in the stretcher, her two sons, ages 15 and 11 were in the room crying, not knowing what was happening to their mom and only provider.
Once in the hospital, many tests were run to figure out the cause of the stroke. The stroke happened on both sides of Katheryn's brain, causing some damage - but the full impact on her body is still unknown. She has still not woken up, and until she does, we will not know the complexity of her journey ahead.
Doctors are hopeful that she is going to make it through this, but it will be a long road to recovery. She will need intense physical therapy, and won't be able to return to work for an extended period of time. She is a single parent who works 2 jobs, 16 hours per day, to make ends meet for her and her boys. She is the mom AND the dad for her boys, and is always making time for their events and activities. She only gets 1 day off per week, and that day is spent at church with her church family - a group that she greatly loves, and loves her immensely.
It is unknown how long she will be in therapy before she can function fully on her own. We are raising money to cover her rent, car payment and bills for at least the next 6 months. This will allow her to focus on recovery, without the added stress of making ends meet as a single mom on the mend.
The less stress she has, the better chances the boys have of getting their mom, their provider, their rock, their biggest fan, their EVERYTHING back. Please help bring our sister home in peaceful recovery!

As some of you may know, Lotte and Sarah are Katheryn’s sisters. We are raising this money to support Katheryn and the boys in the months ahead, so they can recover and bounce back without worrying about finances. Rent, bills, and living expenses is what we plan to cover with these funds. We will be paying the bills until Katheryn returns to fully functioning, and the balance will be given to her and her boys!
