Junior was accepted to one of the most prestigious conferences for the Brazilian community in the US, the Brazil Conference 2019 at Harvard/MIT, happening in April/2019.  He will be attending presentations, talks, and networking with more than 200 Brazilian students and professionals selected to join the event. Apart from that, he will be able to interacting with a distinguish guest list of speakers, including former Brazil's President Mr. Fernando Henrique Cardozo, and other import names for the Brazilian community, such as  Ciro Gomes, Jorge Paulo Lemann, Tabata Amaral, Gabi Oliveira, Carlos Pereira, Jout Jout, Marianna Vasconcelos, among others. 

Junior foi aceito para uma das conferências mais prestigiosas para a comunidade brasileira nos EUA, a Brazil Conference 2019 em Harvard/MIT, que acontecerá em Abril de 2019. Ele ira participar de palestras, apresentaçōes, e poderá criar um networking com mais de 200 estudantes e profissionais brasileiros selecionados para participar do evento. Além disso, Junior poderá interagir com uma extensa lista de convidados ilustres, incluindo o ex-Presidente Fernando Henrique Cardozo, e outros nomes importantes para a comunidade Brasileira, como Ciro Gomes, Jorge Paulo Lemann, Tabata Amaral, Gabi Oliveira, Carlos Pereira, Jout Jout, Marianna Vasconcelos, entre outros.

However, Junior needs your help! He has no access to enough funds, since this year he is already using his university's budget fund to present at the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) conference in San Francisco in April, and also using all his university and personal funds for his thesis research in South America in June and July/2019. Therefore, without help, Junior will not be able to attend this conference. 

Mas pra participar, Junior precisa de ajuda. Nesse momento, ele não possui os recursos necessários para participar da conferência, pq sua bolsa de estudos ja atingiu o limite de acesso a conferências. Em Abril, Junior estará indo apresentar na Conferência da Sociedade Comparative e International de Educação, em San Francisco, no próximo mês de Abril, além de estar usando sua bolsa e fundos pessoais para realizar sua pesquisa de mestrado na America do Sul nos meses de Junho e Julho de 2019.

Biography / Biografia

Junior Menezes was born in a lower middle-class family in São Paulo, Brazil, and has struggled to have access to higher education. Nonetheless, Junior has managed to live and work in six countries. As a result, he has acquired an in-depth perspective of global citizenship and cross-cultural understanding. In 2018, after receiving a full scholarship from the Makiguchi Foundation, he graduated from the first class of the Faculty of International Liberal Arts(FILA) at Soka University of Japan, in Hachioji, Tokyo, concentrating his studies in education and leadership. He is currently pursuing his M.A. in Educational Leadership & Societal Change at Soka University of America(SUA), in Aliso Viejo, California, also with a full scholarship. Next June and July, he will be traveling throughout South America to conduct his research on the role of Emotional Intelligence for social, political and educational leaders promoting social change in South America. His dream is to be an educational leader capable of furthering social justice, bringing positive social change, and closing the educational gap. After SUA, Junior hopes to pursue his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership.

Junior Menezes nasceu em uma família de classe média baixa na Zona Leste de São Paulo, em Itaquera, e passou diversas dificuldades para ter acesso ao ensino superior no exterior. No entanto, Junior conseguiu viver e trabalhar em seis países. Como resultado, ele adquiriu uma perspectiva profunda sobre cidadania global e entendimento intercultural. Em 2018, depois de receber uma bolsa integral da Fundação Makiguchi, formou-se na primeira turma da Faculdade de Artes Liberais Internacionais (FILA) da Universidade Soka do Japão, em Hachioji, Tóquio, concentrando seus estudos em educação e liderança. Atualmente, está cursando o Mestrado em Liderança Educacional e Mudança Social na Soka University of America(SUA), em Aliso Viejo, Califórnia, também com bolsa integral. Em Junho e Julho de 2019, ele viajará pela América do Sul para conduzir sua pesquisa sobre o papel da Inteligência Emocional para líderes sociais, políticos e educacionais que promovem mudança social na América do Sul. Seu sonho é ser um líder educacional capaz de promover a justiça social, trazendo mudanças sociais positivas e diminuindo a desigualdade de acesso à educação de qualidade. Depois de formado, Junior espera continuar seu estudos realizando um doutorado em Liderança Educacional.
