Help Julian study in Denmark!

My name is Julián Escobar, I am 24 years old, I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina and I am Deaf.

I am VERY excited because I was selected to represent Argentina in FRONTRUNNERS, an international training program for Deaf people in Denmark. The program runs from September 2018 to May 2019. But I need your help to be able to go!

Presentation:

Frontrunners is an international training program created 13 years ago for young people who are Deaf and hard of hearing between 18 and 30 years of age. It takes place in Denmark, in Urlev, more precisely in Castberggård. The participants learn about human rights, teamwork, leadership, bilingual education, the general concepts of the Deaf Community and the fundamental institutions for the fight for our rights. .

I am very grateful to my friend who recommended that I visit Frontrunners. I was lucky enough to participate in the so-called Taster Week: I traveled to Denmark in March 2017 and I spent a week with 50 young people from 27 different countries. When I returned, I decided to send my application to study in Denmark for a year, and I was delighted when the team of Deaf professors accepted my application.

So, in less than two months, I'll go to Denmark for a year!

Frontrunners is a wonderful leadership program that brings together young people fromdifferent countries to study together and become true leaders in their countries. In many places, the Deaf community is very marginalized and these young people go on to play an important role to improve and help people in their country.

I am eager to participate in the program, and through this program, help improve the quality of life of the Deaf community in Latin America.

For many years I have been active in the Deaf community in Argentina: For example, I was part of the Youth Section of my local deaf association (ASO) as well as the National Federation of the Deaf (CAS). I was part of the organizing committee of the World Deaf Children Camp that took place last April in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I am always actively involved in the struggle to improve the quality of life of deaf people. At the professional level, I recently received my degree in business administration.

To participate in Frontrunners, I must raise the necessary funds to cover my expenses.

The cost of the Frontrunners course (3 modules) is DKK 73,000 (Danish Krones), which is equivalent to EUR 9700 (euros) for one year.

I have worked very hard to raise funds, but it is not easy because the economic situation in Argentina is quite complicated. I would really love you to donate to be able to participate and represent Argentina in Frontrunners! I firmly believe that my participation will have a great impact on the Deaf community in Argentina and in Latin America in general; We need strong leaders that can help the community move forward.
