Help John fight lymphoma!

John Rutherford Jr. has spent his life working hard to support his beautiful family (wife Megan, sons Logan and Keaton) and has dedicated his free time to helping save lives as a volunteer First Responder for the past 15 years. John is one of the most selfless people I know and would do absolutely anything for his family and the people he loves, without hesitation.

In March after an x-ray for an unrelated injury, a very large mass was discovered in John’s chest. In April they were given the devastating news that the mass was likely cancerous, and in May it was confirmed that John has lymphoma. After multiple biopsies and numerous tests, he has officially been diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. The mass is not able to be surgically removed nor can he receive radiation due to the mass’s close proximity to his heart. John has the best team of doctors caring for him and he will begin chemotherapy next week.

Megan and John both work full time to support their family, and are currently using vacation days for medical appointments. Those days are running out quickly, and while insurance helps, the copays, medication costs, travel expenses and more are adding up even faster. John would rather work through the discomfort of chemo just to know his family is taken care of, but it is my hope that we will all be able to work together to give them the ability to take the necessary time to rest and receive treatment, and for Megan to be able to be there to support him without the financial stress weighing on their already weary minds.
