James (Jim) Meyer is a kind and generous family man who has helped so many people out over the years. We, his friends, would like to give back now that he's in need.

With as much pain as he's in, I've never heard him complain once! He has a great sense of humor, he keeps a very positive attitude & focuses on encouraging others to strive for their dreams.
Over the past 10 years that I have known him, I've seen him go from walking with a slight limp to no longer being able to walk more than a few steps unassisted. It's heartbreaking, especially since he has always gone out of his way to help anyone in need without hesitation.
There are several promising stem cell treatments available & he's trying to find the one he feels most comfortable with & confident in, but the expense is high and unfortunately not covered by insurance. The least expensive treatment would be around $15k where the most is around $40K, not including travel expenses. The Doctors have all been very honest & forthcoming that this treatment, while able to restore his ability to walk with a cane, will not eliminate the disease. They have all also disclosed that it is A) in the experimental phase & B) not a cure.
Jim has been diligent with his diet & does not drink alcohol. He is a great candidate if we can just raise the funding.
