Help Jessica Miller fight Cancer!

THIS GIRL IS A FIGHTER!

WILL YOU BE IN HER CORNER?

A few weeks ago, my soon to be niece, Jessica Miller was busy working 70 hours per week caring for the mentally handicapped, going to school part-time and looking forward to planning her wedding to my nephew, Brandon Hite.  The only cloud was the softball sized tumor which had been found after Jessica complained of short episodes of black-outs and some memory loss.  Jessica went into the Cleveland Clinic last week to have the tumor removed. After a grueling 10-hour surgery, the surgeon was optimistic. He successfully removed 97% of the tumor and Jessica was up walking around on her own within 3 days. We all breathed a sigh of relief assured everything would be alright. Then the world stopped; pathology had come back, the diagnosis… a Grade 2 Glioma brain tumor.  This type of tumor is rare and is known to aggressively infiltrate different parts of the brain, making it incurable.  The prognosis with radiation and chemotherapy is 2 to 5 years; without treatment, a matter of months.   Unfortunately, there is very little research on this tumor for her age group.  This tumor usually strikes the 50-60-year-old age group. Jessica is 21 years old.

Jessica is probably the most cheerful, upbeat person I have ever met.  She always has a smile on her face and thinks nothing of working 2 or 3 jobs if necessary.  After telling the family of the diagnosis and that she is considered by 3 different specialists to be terminal, she was consoling us and telling us everything would be okay!  Despite the prognosis, Jessica will be fighting this with everything she has, she will go thru radiation and chemotherapy and she will continue to plan her wedding! This girl is a fighter! If anyone can beat this thing, it will be her!

Unfortunately, Jessica is unable to work and has no insurance. Her fiancé, my nephew Brandon, is a part-time Paramedic/Firefighter with the Elyria Township Fire Department and a full time Paramedic with Lifecare Ambulance Service, but the number of medical bills facing them combined with the loss of Jessica’s income will financially devastate this young couple.  The family is asking for any help you can provide.  Every little bit will help and will go to Jessica and Brandon to pay the multitude of medical bills facing them; as well as to help maintain their household in this difficult time. Please do what you can to ease the burden facing Jessica and Brandon! It will help more than you can possibly imagine.

The family sincerely thanks you for your kindness.
