Help Jen become a Pilates Teacher

Donation protected
Jen began her Pilates journey in June 2017 after suffering a traumatic brain injury earlier that year in February 2017.   Jen had a terrible accident while skiing (with a helmet) and had severe cerebellum damage and was in a coma for 8 weeks followed by another 6 weeks of in-patient treatment at Kessler Hospital.  As soon as she was discharged Jen was eager to get her life back and along with the support of her family and friends she has been working her butt off.

Jen, a former Division 1 athlete at the prestigious Uinversity of Pennsylvania was always an athlete, so a lot of the rehab felt remedial for her and wanted to find a form of exercise that challenged her the proper amount to help her recovery.  Enter Pilates... Jen began training with Neuro Studio co-founder Meghann Koppele in June 2017 and fell in love with Pilates immediately.  When Meghann asked her what her plans were when she was able to work again she said she wanted to become a Pilates teacher.

Meghann was floored and when the time was rigth Meghann started slowly changing Jen’s session to include more of the “Why’s” which not only helped in Jen’s recovery but also excited her more to become a Pilates teacher.  The only issue now is the cost of recovery.   Unfortunately Jen’s recovery has not been cheap and considering she has not able to go back to work, so the cost of a Pilates certification seemed out of her reach.   Here is where we need YOU ALL.. recovering from a TBI should not derail your life financially so Meghann joined forces with The Kane School at Kinected Center in NYC to create a fundraiser to help subsidize Jen’s Pilates education.  Space is limited at the studio, so we will be live streaming the class on Kinected’s FB page and if you would like to help this remarkable woman become a Pilates teachers to help heal others.

Jen will use the funds for her recovery (PT, OT, etc.) and all her prerequisites of anatomy, mat training, and equipment training.  It will take her some time because she is still recoveroign from her injury but her doctors, PT’s and Meghann are confident that challenging her brain as well as body will be very helpful in her recovery.

Thank you all and GO JEN!!
