On March 15th, my father, Jeff Arcel, had a stroke.

Unfortunately, my folks don't have health insurance and Dad was unable to visit a doctor. As suh, his stroke symptoms worsened.

In the weeks since then, his health has taken a turn. On April 24, he was hospitalized for a variety of conditions, including chest pain, severe Diabetic Ketoacidosis, and a likely ulcerative condition in his stomach.

On April 27, he was discharged from the ICU and transferred to Genesis Healthcare, an inpatient rehabilitation facility specializing in OT/PT and stroke care. His doctors believe he'll be in this facility for at least a month as he works to regain the strength needed to go home again.

It's with all this in mind that I come to you, our community to ask for help. Those of you who have known Miles Middlesniffer for the past thirty-odd years know that he's jovial, creative, rare, crazy-brilliant, and amazingly stubborn.

When people recognize me as "Jeff's kid" (thanks, nose), it's a source of pride. My whole life, I've seen him as magical, and he is. We all know you can't pick your parents, but I  probably would have pulled him from the lineup, anyway.

Those of you who have known my Mom, Jean, for all those years know that she's a saint of a woman who works harder than she should have to and would do anything for anyone - but they can't do this on their own.

That said, I'm asking humbly for your help. Donate if you can, pass resources along if you have them, and send them your love and support. It takes a village, and we're calling on ours.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart -
