As many you know, my amazing friend Jane has been fighting cancer for several years now. I'm sad to say that the disease has taken over, and she is receiving in-home hospice care.
Jane has been the best friend a person could ask for. We've known each other since junior high, and I would not be the person I am without her in my life. Throughout the years she's been there for everyone else, and now I'd like to help her and her family.
She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2013. Since her own mother died of breast cancer when Jane was a teenager, she decided to have a double mastectomy, which was followed up with chemo. This treatment was successful, for awhile.
In September of 2015 the cancer returned- this time in her liver. It was treated by shooting radioactive beads into her liver. Unfortunately there were complications, and she had to undergo emergency surgery. She has been in and out of the hospital since then.
Throughout most of it, Jane kept working as a bookkeeper at Lowes. After taking a leave of absence, then attempting to work part-time, she finally quit in November of 2016. As you can imagine, it was a big adjustment going from two incomes to one. Jane's husband Paul was working full time while taking care of Jane and their developmentally disabled daughter, Chaylea. (Although she's nearly 20 years old, Chaylea still requires around the clock supervision.) Paul is now taking time off of work to care for Jane.
Any and all donations are appreciated. Your money will help pay the medical bills that are piling up, ease the financial burdon, and allow Paul to take care of our beautiful Jane.
