Help Jacki Fight Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Cortney and I’m one of Jacki’s friends and co-workers.
First off, I wanted to say thank you taking the time to visit this GoFundMe page.
Second, I wanted to let you know why I started a GoFundMe account for Jacki and her daughter Alex. The medical bills have really started to pile up and it’s becoming financially stressful for Jacki. I’m hoping to raise enough money so that the bills are the last thing she’s worried about and can focus on her treatment and recovery.
Jacki is a single mom who was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I've known Jacki for the past 2 years where we've formed a pretty special friendship. She is a strong, courageous, fearless, and inspiring woman who would do anything for her friends and family.
I’d like to get them as much support as possible because if you know either Jacki or Alex, you know what wonderful people they both are!

Here is her story in her words:

Late in December I noticed a growing mass on my sternum that was quite painful. I made an appointment with a general practitioner to find out what it was. She sent me immediately for an ultrasound and mammogram, which led to a biopsy. When I arrived for the procedure, they noticed another mass in the lymph node under my arm. Three long days later, I found out I had stage 2 breast cancer.

Since that time, I’ve been on a very aggressive treatment schedule. They started with the toughest regimen first... two different chemos every other week for two months. This aggressive chemotherapy brought a lot of expected sickness and unexpected issues that caused debilitating pain and inability to perform daily tasks. I’ve finally finished that regimen and am currently on week 4 of 12 weekly chemo treatments, which brings a whole new set of issues and setbacks. Following these 12 treatments, they will give my body time to recover and raise the necessary blood counts before undergoing surgery to remove all compromised tissue in both breasts and all lymph nodes. Recovery won’t be easy but I’ll be so happy to finally get rid of the poison within me. Next and hopefully last, comes six weeks of daily radiation.

It’s a long, tough road but God has provided me with a very special daughter who has been by my side every step of the way; an amazing employer and supervisor who have met every need my situation has called for with compassion and understanding; amazing family and friends who continually send heartfelt thoughts, prayers and food; doctors, nurses and staff who provide phenomenal care and cheerleader mentality to help me through the difficult times.

With God’s help, my family, the doctors, and all my wonderful friends, I will beat this!
