Help-- I'm About To Get Evicted
Donation protected
In a nutshell: I'm 4 (soon to be, 5) months late on my rent, and about to be evicted. For those of you that don't know about me, my name is Chris Ivy and I'm an illustrator and cartoonist who, after a lucrative career working in the comics industry, kind of fell through the cracks after the volatile industry-wide crash of the late Nineties. In the past decade, I'd even become homeless. Fortunately, I've climbed back to a relatively regular lifestyle but, in an industry that's still not as stable as it was, and in an economy that's equally a shadow of what it used to be.
It only took one particularly slow season of work, coupled with a desperate decision to work on a questionable job that made things worse by getting me tied up working pretty much for nothing over 2-3 months time, to get me to the point of eviction. The amount of that back-rent owed is $3,875, but any amount gathered towards that goal will be a monumental accomplishment, for which I'd be eternally grateful.
