Help Holly Prado & Harry Northup

Dear Fellow Poets, Friends of Poetry, Friends of the Arts, and especially friends of Holly Prado Northup and Harry Northup:
We are coming together to help two of our own who were the victims of a fire last month that burned out their apartment of 39 years. The fact that Holly happened to wake in the middle of the night because of a power outage is what saved their lives. However, they sustained a massive loss of property and cash money. Holly lost her clothes. Worst is the loss of their library built over 40 years. They stayed at a motel for a while and are now with friends, but the future is uncertain for them.
Therefore, a small group of us are starting a GoFundMe project for them. Holly , 79, has limited mobility. Harry is 76. Their contribution not only to poetry, Los Angeles poetry and, indeed Los Angeles itself, is immeasurable. They have been teachers and mentors of poets, organizers of readings, and, of course, authors. Together, they have written 23 books. Harry has made a living as an actor for over 30 years, having acted in 37 films .
We need your help. We need it badly. Holly and Harry are not extravagant in terms of property but are wealthy in heart and soul and imagination. They have always been available to help any who needed assistance. Now they need it themselves.
Please contribute to our fund. Their need is great and immediate. If you cannot give to the fund yourself, please share this with friends who might be able to help or share it on your Facebook page. We urge you to enlist all your friends and colleagues who are at all approachable to contribute as best they can and to pass along this message in turn to others.
