Herman Needs Your Help
$6,235 of $5,000 goal
A three alarm fire destroyed my father and grandfather's apartment building early in the morning on July 13th. My 71 year old grandfather attempted to leave through the front door but was met with flames and thick smoke, so he decided to jump out of the second story window to save his life. He suffered a broken leg, back fracture, and second degree burns to his forearm. These two have lost everything, and unfortunately did not have renters insurance. The Red Cross assisted with funds for housing but it's not more than a couple days worth. We are looking for help to replace neccessities and a new place to call home, especially while my grandfather is recovering from his injuries. Any amount donated is sincerely appreciated. Thank you!
Lastly, a news helicopter happened to be in the area and managed to capture my grandfather jumping. I'm so thankful he is okay. (Link to video below.)
We have surpassed our goal! Thank you all for your support, we are truly thankful. Herman is doing well and in good spirits, he has a couple of follow up appointments this week to see how he is progressing. We look forward to restoring him back to full health and helping him settle in a new home when he is released. Thank you!!
Thank you all for your donations, we are so very close to our goal. I wanted to update you on Herman's progress. He was released from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon and will be spending a couple of weeks in an skilled nursing facility. He will be working with a physical therapist most days, until he gets back on his own two feet. Please continue to share, we are almost there! Thank you, thank you!
On another note, we are over half way to our goal thanks to family, friends and complete strangers! We are so grateful to everyone that has donated, shared posts, and spread the news with people that aren't on social media. Please continue to share and very soon we will reach our goal! Thank you all!
