Please help Fund Hayley a Service Dog!
Hayley has been accepted into a Service Dog Intervention Program, through Dogs For Life Australia, previously known as - The Centre for Service and Therapy Dogs Australia (CSTDA).The cost of this program is $30,000 which is paid monthly over two years. A cost that we just can't afford when relying on the DSP, through no fault of our own, or our children's.
My husband is unable to work due to a workplace injury that has taken its toll on his body since 2009. He suffers Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Sero Negative Arthritis and failed/complicated knee replacement, where he developed an allergy to the knee replacement, he requires the use of a wheelchair to get around. I am Hayley's mother, I have battled to work through a workplace injury from 2011, however I have recently had to completely cease work as a primary school teacher due to my health.

So why does Hayley qualify for a service dog?
Hayley who is only 11 years old, has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Development Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder. She also continues with permanent bilateral hearing loss, miagraines and slow emptying stomach. Hayley also is a very poor sleeper, often she will be awake roaming the house throughout the night. Hayley is often a danger to not only others around her, but also to herself. We are unable to leave Hayley alone, and rely on CCTV throughout the house which is continually monitored both day and night.

A service dog for Hayley will bring independence, a friend and a consistent non-judgmental companion that will ease her stress levels and anxiety. Hayley requires the use of a specially trained dog who can predict a psychotic episode and prevent self harming.

Hayley loves gymnastics and dancing. Her favourite colour is blue and she is the biggest fan of Dory ever!!!

A quick history of my little girl Hayley.
Hayley had a rough start to life. At birth she was resuscitated after an emergency c section due to HELLP Syndrome. Hayley was late to achieve her major mile stones and began therapy at the age of 18 months of age. Around this time Hayley began vomiting once a week every Tuesday evening regardless of who was looking after her. It took a year before doctors took notice and diagnosed her with Slow Gastric Emptying Stomach and associated Severe Miagraines.
Hayley began medications to speed up her digestive system and finally she began to grow. Hayley taught herself to read before school, however during her prep year, more and more ASD signs began to appear, in particually her inability to make friends and be accepted by others.
Hayley was officially diagnosed with Autism, Depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder when she was in grade three. Due to her age she missed all avenues of funding to assist her Autism. Hayley struggled to make friends and became such an angry little girl. We began to offer her both Speech Pathology, Social Groups and Psychological sessions. During this year too, Hayley's hearing deteriorated and she required the use of hearing aids in both ears. Hayley attended mainstream schooling up until March 2016, however Hayley continued to mentally deteriorate, we were seeing two sometimes three different Hayleys.
We organised another assessment as I a trained primary school teacher began to struggle looking after my daughter. At this time Hayley was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Development Disorder, Bipolar 1 Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder and a possibility of an underlying Mood and Personality disorder. Also continued with her permanent bilateral hearing loss, miagraines and slow emptying stomach. In January 2017 ELMS (Early in Life Mental Health Service) further diagnosed Hayley with Dissociative Identity Disorder (split personality).
Hayley was removed from school in March last year, when school refusal and self harming became too much. She no longer attends a school, she completes her education through Distance Education Victoria, although now a number of years behind her peers.
Hayley along with my other daughter who also has ASD are on the waiting list for an individual support package through DHHS to help fund both my daughter's therapies, however the reality is that we will have to wait for the roll out of the NDIS late 2018 in my area.

I understand that many of you like me are not in the financial position to donate, that's ok we understand, although a simple share could connect us with someone that can.
Thank you!
