Help Graz With Short-Term Disability

Hi - I'm Anthony, or better known by many as Graz. I am a dance music producer and creator living in Seattle.

Recently my life was put on hold due to a mysterious back and leg injury. The extreme pain has greatly reduced my mobility making me unable to work. I cannot sit for longer than a few minutes, and cannot stand for more than an hour. I also cannot really bend. At the beginning of this injury, I couldn't even dress myself. I had to rely on my wife to help me every morning. The only comfortable position is to lay flat on my back, making it hard to do much of anything.

(Here is how I go on the computer. I prop my head up with pillows and use my belly to point the screen at me.)

I've gone to numerous doctors, sports medicine specialists, and chiropractors, but none have been able to determine the cause of the pain. I've received MRIs, Xrays, and physicals and every doctor has been left with the same prognosis: "We can see you are in pain, but we cannot determine the cause."

During this month's absence from work, I applied for short term medical leave via my work and insurance. Today I found out it has been denied. The reason? They cannot substantiate my injury, therefore cannot prove a reason why I am unable to work. They said I can re-apply for disablity after my upcoming neurologist appointment in a few weeks. Sadly, this leaves me stuck in a bad place.

(This is my leg brace. It helps me keep my leg straight to reduce pain. Best 30 dollars ever spent.)

I've been unable to earn money and do not have any source of income while I'm injured. I do not have job security because my disability claim was denied. I do not have money to pay my rent (which is rapidly approaching), nor any of the lapsed bills from this month. I do not have money for any of the medical procedures I have had or am yet to receive. I am asking for your help.

This goal would cover my rent and current bills like utilities, phone,  and internet for 2 months as I try to get back on my feet and figure out my next steps. If this goal were somehow exceeded, the additional funds would go toward paying some of the hefty medical bills I have incurred since the beginning of this injury.
