Help Goat n Hammer get a new home

Donation protected
Goat n Hammer has been offering education in blacksmithing, bladesmithing, stock removal knife making, and associated metalworking skills since 2013. We are passionate about teaching and sharing the knowledge that we have gained over the years.

We have an opportunity to expand our educational facility. This new building will be able to house a second classroom for visiting instructors, a co-op workshop space, hammer-ins and other gatherings, and even a little extra space for other artists or artisans to set up shop and teach what they know.

As some of you may have heard, Goat n Hammer is losing it’s home at the end of the year.
We have been at the Goat Farm Arts Center for the last eight years, but sadly they are beginning redevelopment of the property this fall and so we must leave.

The truth is we aren’t really ready to move, but we definitely don't want to shut down. We not only want to continue offering the classes and community you have come to know us for, we want to give you more and better opportunities for both. And, as all of you who have been to our shop know, we ran out of space a long time ago.  To that end, we have decided that we should attempt to purchase a property nearby, in downtown Smyrna. The property that we are looking at has enough space for multiple classrooms and workspaces and is only nine miles north of where our shop currently resides.

This is where you come in.  While we do have an opportunity to get a loan for a significant portion of the cost, we need to have a certain amount up front before they consider us. We also want to give you, the community, a chance to invest in something that is important to you. You are the reason we do what we do, and without you we would be nothing.  So please consider offering us your support at this time to help us grow in this new season.

Check out our updates to see the giveaway that we’re doing for donors! We are not doing tiered giveaway. We know that people give what they can and the person who can give only a little is just as important as the person who can give more. Instead we are going to put everyone’s name, regardless of how much they donated into a hat and do drawings for the gifts.
