Help Get Donna's Belongings Home

Donation protected
Donna suddenly passed away 5/8/15 in central Ohio. Most of her worldly possessions are still with me in Southeastern North Carolina. I am going to rent a van and drive all of her belongings to Ohio. I want to personally deliver these special memories to her mother and best friend Doug. I am an 11 year sufferer of multiple sclerosis so I will need to stop often to rest. I just need help with the rental van, gas, food and hotel costs. Any extra money not used will be donated to an animal charity in Donna's honor.

For a detailed story on how us Louisville friends wound up in Ohio and NC with each other's stuff is outlined below:

I met Donna Welsh in 2007 and we became instant friends.  We both lived in Louisville KY but we were both from other states.  We had many late night laughs and chat sessions that lasted until both of us should have been in bed since we had to go to work the next morning.  With her it didn't matter, it was like we had always known each other.  She was like the sister I never had and we had so many things that were eerily similar that we just had to laugh about it.

In 2008 we were going to get a condo together and become roommates.  A week before we were set to close the financial crisis happened.  I couldn't get the loan and she got laid off.  I stayed in Louisville and she moved into her lifelong best friend Doug's home in Florida.  She took as much as she could fit in her small SUV but left the rest of her lifelong possessions in a storage unit.

Well as fate would have it, I moved into a small house in 2011 but I had no furniture.  I called Donna and we came to a mutual agreement.  I would take all of her belongings out of storage and keep them in my spare room so long as I could have the furniture, dishes, and other household goods for my home.  It saved us both money and that is how this all came to be.

I became disabled and moved to North Carolina in 2012.  I brought all of Donna's possessions along with me and stored them at my father's house.  I was planning a trip to Florida to give her all of her things.  That's when Donna got cancer.  She battled it nobly and fought hard but illnesses aren't cheap. She eventually moved back to the Circleville OH area where she grew up.  That is also sadly where she passed away on May 8, 2015.  She was taken from us much too soon and she was far too young.

I still have all of her memories wrapped up on boxes and crates.  I was planning a trip to Louisville to see my family and friends that I've been seperated from for 5 long years.  I thought it would be perfect to swing through Ohio on my way to Louisville.  I just need to ask for a little help because she has about 10 crates of things, and 5 of those are Christmas decorations.  I'm going to have to rent a minivan or SUV to hold it all.  I'm also going to have to stop a few times in hotels since I have MS and can't travel like I used to.

Any one who has ever met Donna has walked away with a smile on their face.  Help me put a smile on her family and friends face by reuniting her things with the one's that will get the most enjoyment from them.  Any amount would surely help in this journey.

Thank you.
