Our Dad has been struggling with Parkinson's for the past 12 years and as you may know there is no cure for this disease. This is something that progresses over time and creates increasing discomfort.
Parkinson's is a disease of the central nervous system that affects movement and creates tremors. The nerve cell damage in the brain causes dopamine levels to drop.
Our Dad has hand tremors and struggles with movement, balance, depression, motivation and many other aliments. It also creates muscle tension and soreness throughout his entire body.
He receives a small amount of disability monthly and is only allowed to make so much in additional income on top of it. In addition to this limit of funds our mother recently was let go from her job, making payment for this treatment extremely difficult. My family is struggling to make ends meet and also find relief for our father.
With your donation our Dad would receive some essential treatments on his spine. This treatment would help straighten his neck, back and relieve pressure from this entire body. Currently his neck is shifted forward 8 inches. With his head weighing 15 pounds normally this shift, based on physics, makes his head weight effectively 137 pounds. This abnormal position of the neck puts increased pressure on your spinal discs, muscles, bones and nerves. Research has shown that abnormal neck curve positions are associated with early spinal arthritis and disc diseases (S.A.D.D.).
The left side of this photo is a normal healthy curvature of the neck. The right side of the photo is my Dads neck curvature.
This is only one portion of his body that needs these posture improvements along with his entire spine and hips. This spinal treatment will aide in relieving pressure, tension, create more balance when walking and decrease the use of some medications. Right now he is 6'1" and will increase 4 inches, back to his normal height of 6'5" with your help! We know how much this will help him and it is difficult to know we cannot pay for all of it.
