Help Gage and his family

Donation protected

On March 7, 2017, Gage, a normally very healthy child, was taken to RVH in Barrie. He was believed to be experiencing issues with his kidneys and appendix and he was transferred to sick kids hospital in Toronto.

Gage was admitted to Sick Kids and doctors were able to rule out appendicitis and kidney infection. However, his kidney function continued to decline rapidly for reasons unknown to anyone. Gage was placed in isolation with his own team of nurses and specialists.

On March 8, 2017, Gage went into acute kidney failure. Gage's parents still do not have answers, and he will be getting a biopsy tomorrow as well as a central line as it looks like he may need dialysis. He has earned 4 bravery beads and the respect of every nurse within the area for never once cringing at a single needle.

Gage's mom and dad are doing their absolute best to remain positive and they are welcoming all of the positive words, thoughts and prayers at this time. Neither party is working as they are at Gage's bedside. Parking is astronomical and the family is eating at the hospital cafeteria each day, not to mention they still have to pay their bills at their home in Barrie and Gage will need medication once he is released. We are hoping to take away the financial stress of this already emotional and stressful time. Any help you can give the family is greatly appreciated.
