Help for Sue Cowley Naughton Medical Bills

Donation protected
On October 14, 2018, Sue was admitted to the hospital for what was thought to be bad knee pain. She had previously had a knee replacement. It turned out that she was extremely septic and had an infection in her prosthetic knee. On October 18th, she had surgery to drain the pus from the knee. She was transferred in November to a short term rehab facility. Around Christmas time, she developed an abscess in the skin around her knee and was transferred back to the hospital where she underwent surgery to remove the abscess. Two days later, she ended up receiving a new knee replacement. She also had muscle flap surgery done on her right knee to give the knee more muscle to stabilize it as well as a skin graft to cover the abscess site. She ended up in ICU and required 7 rounds of blood transfusions due to severe blood loss from the surgery. When her condition stabilized, she was once again transferred to a rehab center. So after nearly 4 months of surgery, rehab, physical therapy, IV infusions and blood transfusions, she finally left the hospital on February 25, 2019. She is recuperating at home and still continues to receive physical therapy.

Between hospital and rehab stays, surgery costs and prescription costs, Sue will have accumulated out of pocket medical expenses of close to $15,000. Sue has been brave in her fight to overcome her health issues. She is a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Let's give a her and her family a hand by helping pay for her medical expenses
