Help our Beloved, unstoppable Rachel: Surgery #35

Donation protected
Rachel is an inspiration of strength to all that know her. Now, as she faces brain surgery, we her family are reaching out to those that have been inspired by her unstoppable, resilient spirit and love of life for support.

If you know her, you know how she is one of the most giving people around. She gives freely of her time, love, resources and pours all of herself into those that are a part of her life. Now we want to give back because she needs us.

Since her near-fatal accident in 2003, Rach has shown over and over that life will not keep her down, even after 30+ surgeries.  Her faith, family, and friends constantly hold her through hard times.

Almost 3 years ago, she had an episode of debilitating, paralyzing pain that radiated across her face and down her torso. She has since had numerous of these same episodes that continue for days. Many visits to the emergency room later, Rachel was diagnosed with  Trigeminal Neuralgia. {According to the Mayo Clinic} it is categorized as a rare chronic pain condition affecting the trigeminal nerve in the face. Only around 200,000 people are currently diagnosed in the US. There is no cure as of yet, only treatments that can possibly provide some relief.

Rachel is now scheduled for a surgery that we pray will relieve her of at least some of the pain, although how much remains to be seen. We pray it will at least bring her pain levels down to a more manageable level. The doctors are planning to put a sheath over her exposed trigeminal nerve and move a main artery that laying on top that same nerve that runs around her brain and branches to her face. Even once the surgery is complete, there will be a long road to recovery that will not be easy.

Being that Rachel had been dealing with medical issues for so long, she already deals with so many expenses. She is self-employed and always hard working, dedicated to her employees and clients.

All the money we are able to raise will go straight to her medical expenses as well as taking the financial pressure off so she is able to concentrate on full recovery instead of worrying about keeping her business afloat and daily finances.

We welcome each donation, each prayer and good thoughts sent to Rachel. She is always willing to give everything to any around her, now it is our turn to take care of her!
