Air conditioning for María Jimena

Only one more thing remains to be done -- the hot weather is here and getting hotter, and there is still no air-conditioning in the big rooms where María Jimena and other patients at her facility live. They are always uncomfortable because of their physical problems, but we can do this to make them feel so much better, every day all day! The total cost for 2 air conditioners is $450, and we have raised $50 of that. (The other $150 of the $200 total we've raised bought María Jimena a new wheelchair!!!!!)

Woo-hoo! With the help of wonderful connections, we were able to find people who not only provided a new wheelchair for María Jimena in exchange for our donations!!! -- they also provided new wheelchairs for other kids at María's facility!!! Huge thanks to Dick Rodgers and Sarah Peller. So amazing!
Now all we need is $250 or so for air conditioning for these kids, and they will be as comfortable as possible. We've adjusted our campaign total from $1400 to $400 to reflect the fact that María has her wheelchair, hooray!

Good afternoon,
My daughter María Jimena Jaramillo has outgrown her wheelchair. She urgently needs a new wheelchair.
We are in Guatemala City — the price oscillates between 5,000.00 to 6,000.00 quetzales ($685-$820) because it is a chair made to measure.
María Jimena is 21 years old. She has switched gene 23 to 17, causing her heart and kidney problems (bilateral hydronofrosis), severe mental retardation and general muscular hypotomy.
María has had 5 operations, and she has only her right kidney. I paid for these operations at a cost of approximately $ 200,000.00. Which left me financially affected.
In addition, María would love to have air conditioning because it is very hot and uncomfortable for her.
And we would like to be able to buy a good supply of diapers for her.
Also, if anyone has a supply of the drug Myralax to send? María uses it every day.
We are very grateful for any and all help.
