Help for Halstead

Hi my name is Krystal Halstead, I live in Newton NJ. I have a husband James and two daughters Amilliana(9yrs old) and Athena(7yrs old). In the beginning of October my husband James noticed a small rash on his right arm. So he scheduled a routine doctor appointment to get some cream, and ended up being rushed to the emergency room for a full bloodwork analysis and spinal fluid biopsy. The next morning James was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukemia (AML). It is a rare and aggressive blood cancer that attacks the immune system through the over production of immature white blood cells in the bone marrow. The 5 year survival rate for AML patients is 20% after diagnosis. James was admitted into Morristown Medical center oncology unit where he underwent a month long stay of chemotherapy treatment known as "Induction therapy ". James is home now, recovering and spending time with his family. But unfortunately the fight is far from over. James has to return to the hospital every month to undergo "Consolidation Chemotherapy" for 5 days inpatient, And will have to receive several immunotherapy and hematologic treatments to support his immune system after each round of chemo is finished. Due to the constant regimen of aggressive treatment and its effect on his immune system, James will be unable to return to work until cleared by his doctors. This puts a great financial burden on our family. Mounting hospital bills, medication expenses that are NOT covered by insurance and time I will miss from my job while caring for my husband. This is where we could use your help in aiding our family in our greatest time of need. All donations will go toward hospital and medical expenses, finding a bone marrow donor match, and supporting our family whenever needed during this battle. We are have been truly humbled by this entire experience. We never wanted to ask for help but this event completely BLINDSIDED our entire world and we realized we need all the help we can get.
