As of today, Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is classified as a rare disease, therefore in El Salvador, there is still no specialized doctors to treat this disease or any available treatment in both the public and private sectors.
Hello my name is Patricia Dueñas, I am writing to you on behalf of my cousin Gabriel Zometa who lives in El Salvador. As off November 2018, after several consultations, medical studies, pulmonary therapies, and a lung biopsy performed in February of 2019. He has been diagnosed with Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), which is a type of fibrosis disease.
We need to raise $15,000 to help him fight this horrible disease.
After the Doctors performed a biopsy in February 2019 he suffered three Lung Collapses, and that accelerated the deterioration of his lungs due to the scarring from the disease.
Therefore, we as a family have been investigating and have contacted with hospitals abroad to consult for a complementary diagnosis and thus start with some type of treatment and fight this disease;
but we need to raise an amount of $ 15,000 so that Gabriel can have the proper treatment and medications needed to be able to obtain the opportunity for a better quality of life while battling this horrible disease.
As of today my cousin Gabriel must be dependent on artificial oxygen 24/7, and every day that passes, the coughs increase, the fatigue is more intense, the weight loss is more noticeable, but his desire to live does not dissipate.
However, if someone can provide more information about other hospitals that we can contact, we will be eternally grateful.

Hoy en día, la Neumonía Pulmonar Intersticial Descamativa es clasificada como una de las enfermedades pulmonares más raras y, por lo mismo en El Salvador, aún no se cuenta con médicos especializados para tratarla ni tratamiento para la misma, tanto en el sector público como en el sector privado.
Hola les saluda cordialmente Patricia Dueñas, me dirijo a ustedes en nombre de mi primo Gabriel Zometa, a quien, desde Noviembre del 2018, luego de varias consultas, estudios médicos, terapias de nebulizaciones y a través de una biopsia pulmonar realizada en febrero de este año, le han diagnosticado Neumonía Pulmonar Intersticial Descamativa (Fibrosis Pulmonar), la cual es una de los fibrosis existentes.
Necesitamos reunir $15,000 para aydarle con esta lucha y pelear esta enfermedad.
En Febrero del 2019 después de realizada la biopsia sufrió tres neumotórax (colapso pulmonar), que debido a eso se aceleró el deterioro que su pulmón ya tenía por la enfermedad.
Por lo tanto, se ha investigado y contactado con hospitales del extranjero para consultar por un diagnóstico complementario y así iniciar con el tratamiento, para no desvanecer en esta lucha;
pero necesitamos recaudar un monto de $15,000 para que mi primo Gabriel pueda tener su tratamieto adecuado, y así de esta manera obtener la oportunidad de una mejor calidad de vida.
Por hoy, Gabriel es paciente dependiente de oxígeno artificial, y cada día que pasa, la tos aumenta, el cansancio es más intenso, la pérdida de peso es más notoria, pero sus ganas de vivir no se disipan.
Sin embargo, si alguien puede brindar alguna mayor información acerca de otros contactos de hospitales, se los agradeceremos.
