Help for family of Kyle Yorlets
Hello friends.
The world just lost a bright and rising star, and we lost a beloved brother.
Kyle Yorlets, singer and songwriter for Carverton ,was shot and killed outside his home in west Nashville on February 7. He was 24.
His family are dairy farmers in Pennsylvania, a life-giving vocation that requires constant care and attention. We can't even begin to imagine having to deal with the grief and pain of losing a son ...
... and then having to handle the arrangements of travel, transport, and the hundreds of decisions and interactions required by something like this ...
... all the while having to arrange for the upkeep of a farm that needs full hands-on work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We need your help. We are raising funds to help the Yorlets with what they need ...
-- Airfare, lodging, and travel expenses for the family.
-- Transport and funeral expenses for Kyle.
-- Financial aid for hiring help for the farm.
... and for any other expenses that may arise during this awful season of their life.
All money raised will go to cover the family's expenses. Any funds left over will go towards scholarship opportunities arranged by the Yorlets family in Kyle’s honor.

Wanted to write you a brief note about the good your thoughts, prayers, and gifts have done for the Yortlets and the Carverton family over the past week or so.
We've been blessed to celebrate Kyle's life twice - once in Nashville, and once in Carlisle. If you'd like to see the Nashville memorial service, you can see it here ...

Kyle was laid to rest after a beautiful service in Carlisle, PA. Family and friends by the hundreds gathered to pay their respects, and the stories and music shared over the weekend helped start the healing process.
The Yorlets family is working with the foundation at his high school in Carlisle to create the Kyle Yorlets Chasing Sounds Scholarship, which will be awarded to students who demonstrate a passion for creating music. Once we have the link available for online giving to this fund I'll make sure it's posted here.
To honor Kyle's music, the Yorlets and Carverton decided to release the album a month earlier than scheduled. You can find it here right now ...

... and it will be available through all major digital music channels by next week. The band is giving the album away for free, with the option for people to pay what they want if they would like to help with the expenses incurred during the recording of the album.
Although they would kill me for saying it, I know the boys have spent about $9000 of their own money in producing this project, with the plan of recouping their investment through touring in support of the album. While I know that they are trying to decide what to do next, there's little to no chance that they find anyone who can bring what Kyle did to their sound, their show, and this music. His spirit is far too entwined in these 13 songs for him to be easily replaced. Listen for yourself and you'll see.
