Help for Chris Davis - Hit by a car

On Wednesday, Chris and his little brother Kayden were both hit by a pickup while walking to school along West Mary Street in Ottumwa, Iowa, just a block from their home, in an area that did not have sidewalks.  Kayden had only minor injuries, bruises and scrapes.  Chris wasn't as lucky.  He was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City with a laceration to his spleen, broken pelvis and lots of scrapes and bruises. He was in and out of consciousness for several hours after the accident. Doctors say he will be here for at least a week, possibly longer.  We are raising funds to help pay for medical expenses, recovery expenses as well as family expenses such as hotels and food during his stay in Iowa City.  I'm Chris's uncle, Nick Davis. Money raised will be given to my mother, Chris's grandmother and legal guardian, Sheryl Steele. Every little bit helps. We do not know what his insurance (Medicaid) will pay for. The driver of the truck did not have vehicle insurance. I've set the goal at $5,000 simply because I do not know what our final expenses will be. Please give whatever you can.
