Help for Cameron and His Family

Donation protected
On behalf of Cameron Coles, this "gofundme" page was created to assist him and his family in his recovery from a severe brain injury.

On Thursday, April 18th, Cameron was involved in a terrible bicycling accident at the base of Mt. Hamilton in San Jose, where he was found lying next to his bike and was unresponsive at the scene. Not much is known about the actual fall at this time, but emergency personnel arrived on scene within 15 minutes and immediately rushed him to the Hospital in San Jose where he had to undergo emergency surgery in order to reduce the swelling in his brain.

After the surgery, Cameron was sent to the intensive care unit and placed into a medically induced coma, which he continues to be in as of April 30th. Cameron is showing some progress,  but the Doctors have advised Cameron's family that his recovery will be long and difficult, and are unsure at this time what his long-term prognosis will be, and unfortunately won't have a better idea of what can be expected for at least a number of months.

Cameron has an incredible family and support system, but he is going to need your support given that his recovery will likely take years, but as you can imagine, everything involved in getting his health back will take a huge emotional, physical, and financial toll on him and his family.

The road back for him will be full of ups and downs, hugs and tears, anger and joy, but as of now, he will be in the hospital and rehabilitation unit for many weeks if not months, which means that his amazing wife Clarice (they got married just 10 months ago) will have to adjust to a different life until Cameron is well enough to go home.

Cameron is an incredibly passionate, caring and active person. He is a much loved husband, son, brother, and friend. Other than being the husband of the year, he loves Hockey, going to dozens of San Jose Sharks games every year, and also plays on two separate teams. He was preparing for a 100 mile cycling ride in October, which is what he was training to do when he had his accident. He's also a big time cat and animal lover, with two Cats at home who miss him greatly already.

We want to get Cameron back as quickly as possible, and your donations will help cover any future medical costs, living expenses, groceries, and general care - just to name a few. Any amount - big or small - is SO appreciated by everyone who knows and loves Cameron.

Please spread the word and help us get Cameron back to good health. Thank you sooo much!!

Also - An online journal has been created so that everyone can read about any updates regarding Cameron's situation. You can find it at https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/cameroncoles .
