Help for August Living Expenses
Spende geschützt
I'm a 55 yr old two-time widow, unemployed for over a year, with severe spinal and other medical issues. Although I've applied for disability, that takes time, and a gal has to eat, not to mention pay rent. I've been continuing to look for work in an attempt to return to self-sufficiency, but with no luck so far.
The primary reason I've been unable to find another job is my lack of a vehicle. Although there is public transit here (Luzerne County, PA), it's erratic at the best of times, and severely limited. Employers know this and won't hire anyone who has to rely on public transit to get to work. Additionally, my doctor said I should not take buses at all because the jarring to my spine could cause more damage.
I've been trying to provide myself with some income by doing online transcription jobs. The pay is low, but if you can get enough work, you can make do. Unfortunately, due to having a severe bout with pneumonia in June, and the fact that it's summer (and therefore, the number of potential transcription jobs is reduced), I've been unable to earn enough this month to cover my August living expenses.
The amount listed is for my rent, internet and phone bills, monthly bus pass, non-food expenses like toiletries, cleaning supplies and laundry, etc. I've also included an extra $200 to cover the cost of renting a vehicle (actual rental fees plus cash deposit, which is required at time of rental) so I can get to my doctor's office (a required visit) which is located in Monroe County - where there's no public transit.
I'm also trying to raise funds to obtain a car , and that effort has been making progress. If I'm lucky, the money for getting to my doctor may not be needed - IF I can get a car in time. But until I actually have the car, I have to have that cushion, just in case, as the doctor visit is absolutely necessary.
I appreciate any and all donations, regardless of the amount. I ask only one thing - whether you can donate or not, please keep sharing the link in your own network. The more eyes this gets, the better the chance of reaching the goal.
Thank you all - so very, very much!!
