Urgent Care Needed for Altai, Pinar and So's Sweet 4-year old Alaskan Husky! (Story written by Del Likins and So Sinopoulos-Lloyd)

Altai, beloved dog of Pinar & So Sinopoulos-Lloyd and canine companion to the Queer Nature community, is currently in the ICU at Wheatridge Animal Hospital and needs urgent medical support.
^Altai at the ER last night^
On Thursday night, after extensive hemorrhaging from her lower GI tract, So and Pinar took Altai to the ER in Boulder. There, it was discovered that she was severely anemic (10% hematocrit) and would likely die without an immediate blood transfusion. Due to a statewide blood shortage, she was transferred to an ICU at a larger hospital in Denver with the hope to survive the night.
Pinar and So are shaken by the sudden onset of Altai's illness, and by the cost of her first 12 hours of emergent care, already climbing over $4,000—with projected costs up to $6000 for the first 24-48 hours of treatment (photos of receipts and estimates included below).
If you're reading this, your life has likely been impacted by So, Pinar, the incredible work they do, and hopefully their sweet and dopey pup Altai. Many can attest to Altai's remarkable gifts as an emotional support creature. When allowed, she is in the field with Pinar and So and always knows when to gently put her head on someone's lap in comfort.
Pinar and So are preparing for a busy spring, summer, and fall as outdoor educators with Queer Nature, ReWild Portland, Rites of Passage Journeys, and other nature-based orgs. They are praying that Altai will be well by then, and hope to be able to afford the care needed to figure out what is behind Altai's incredibly close call last night.
