Help For A Folding Powerchair

Hi my name is Heather. I have autism, Borderline Personality Disorder and suspected PTSD. I also have FND, a condition that causes muscle weakness, myoclonus, chronic pain and seizures leaving me bound to a wheelchair.

I'm crowdfunding for a folding powerchair as the one I have doesn't fold. As a result I have sadly lost my independence. I have missed out on many things with my family and friends. I simply wish I could attend family gatherings.

My current wheelchair is very large and with me in it, very difficult to push in a way that is safe for me and a carer. I am unable to propel a manual chair myself and I just want to be able to access the community like I used to. Even public transport is very difficult to navigate due to the size of my chair.

I don't drive a car and can't be collected by anyone in a normal car. Having a folding powerchair would enable me to be collected by car and this would mean that I can be a part of the wider community again. I would be able to attend family events and meet friends. I will be able to access places which are otherwise not accessible in a large chair.
