Help Emi pay for new hearing aids!
Donation protected
A couple of months ago my one and only hearing aid was completely destroyed by my cats chewing both the ear mould as well as the aid itself.
Unfortunately my Audiology department will not cover damage. They have given me a temporary hearing aid ( shown in the photo) as well as an ear mould (it's actually an earphone bud) but the tube sticks straight into my ear canal which results in quite a lot of pain and the mould doesn't fit well at all so it's always falling out.
My hearing aids are ready to be collected however the matter of paying for them is very difficult.
I am on assessment rate for ESA (around £145 a fortnight) and one hearing aid costs £72 and a pair is £144. I also have 3 cats to feed as well as myself, not to mention bills...I'm absolutely broke.
I'm desperate to get new hearing aids in time for Bloodstock festival which begins August 10th. The temporary hearing aid will not survive the festival (mosh pits = hearing aid goes bye bye straight out of my ear)
Being hard of hearing has never been this much of an inconvenience and I'm so so SO eager to wear comfortable hearing aids and best of all...being able to hear properly!
Any funds raised over the limit will be donated to Sense - a UK charity that helps to support the blind and deaf. ❤
